Juveniles at Doneraile Golf Club

The purpose of the Juvenile Section of  Doneraile Golf Club is to develop and grow Juvenile Golf within the Club, to provide a framework within which our young golfers can mix with their peers, develop their golfing skills and enjoy the game of golf. We want to encourage our Juvenile members to become active participants in the club, including Juvenile representation at inter club and national level.

Our Juvenile Summer Program provides our Juveniles with the opportunity to learn the basics of golf and play a few holes, while under the supervision of our Juvenile Officers, Billy Wade and Bill O'Keeffe. The program also extends to school holiday periods in the non summer months. Further coaching is provided from time to time by Michael Collins PGA Professional, funded by the Golfing Union of Ireland. The Club wishes that every juvenile member enjoys their participation in a disciplined manner, demonstrates courtesy and sportsmanship at all times, irrespective of how competitive they may be. This is the spirit of golf.

At different times throughout the year, fun scramble events are organised by the Club, where Juveniles and adult members play a fun mixed tournament together.

All Juvenile activities are operated under the guidelines contained in the GUI Club Handbook for Juniors

In addition to the success achieved by individual Doneraile members who have come through the Juvenile ranks, Doneraile won the 2017 North Cork Junior League, defeating Mallow in the final at Kanturk GC. The winning team are pictured below.
